Radion™ 4 LED : for LED UV systems
4-Color Process
LED Ultraviolet-cured Sheetfed Offset Inks
Offering Strongly pigmented, acrylate-based Black & Process Colors
Kerley Ink manufactures Radion, a 4-color set of Ultraviolet energy-curable sheetfed litho inks formulated to work on paper, board, plastic, polymer, and polymer-coated board surfaces. Aside from being the first all-new series of UV-cure inks formulated, manufactured and sold in the USA for years, Radion is also priced to help you take advantage of the new alternative supply source that the introduction of Radion Inks present.
Developed as a complement to the Radion™ line of sheetfed litho UV-cured inks, Radion™ LED series Litho inks are formulated specifically for use on LED lamp-equipped lithographic presses. Radion LED inks utilize Kerley Ink's Exocure™ LED photoinitiator, which enables Radion LED inks to cure best at UV light emitting UV light at wavelengths between 365 and 405 nanometers.
Radion process colors are formulated to have excellent scuff and slip properties immediately after curing, so in-line folding and handling of printed sheets should present no marking problem. Radion has minimal misting tendency.
Use Radion LED series inks for paper and board substrates on presses equipped with ink agitators. Some rigid plastic substrates with adequate surface treatment (more than 42 dynes surface tension) may also be suitable for use with Radion LED ink. Always test substrates before use.
Radion is available in the colors listed below
What really makes Radion and its sister product for UV-cured web offset, UViPrint, unique is the "built from the ground-up" approach to how all of Kerley Ink's radiation-curable products are manufactured. Radion is made almost completely from ingredients also manufactured by Kerley. As with the rest of the range of products that Kerley Ink offers, Radion is formulated to use a minimum of proprietary materials from outside suppliers. Thus, Kerley manufactures for itself all of the color base dispersions used in Radion and UViPrint from dry colors in radiation-curable vehicles that Kerley also makes in-house. See our selection of RadionBase products elsewhere in this website for their specifications. Additionally, a successful UV-cured ink also depends greatly on the quality of the photoinitiator package chosen, so Kerley makes is own ExoCure line of photoinitiator packages, also.
