ThermaGard HG WF DULL heatset overprint varnish is Kerley's wax-free premium, super low-gloss overprint varnish. ThermaGard HG WF DULL does not contain PTFE or any other wax, so dried films have fair scuff & burnish resistance right from the delivery end of the press. ThermaGard HG WF DULL formulated to be used in the press fountain, just like an ink. This means that ThermaGard HG WF DULL varnish can also be used as a “spot” varnish for selective application of varnish on the printed sheet.

ThermaGard HG WF DULL also contains Tung Oil (aka: Chinawood Oil), enabling the film to continue to air-cure after heat-setting to a very hard, yet flexible and more chemically-resistant film. ThermaGard HQ WF DULL OPV does accept lamination or stamping readily. ThermaGard HG WF DULL, when properly applied and adequately air-cured, is capable of withstanding rub tests of several dozen strokes, especially if a small amount of drier such as our “Litho Dri CO 6” is added press-side. Contains silica, which must be stirred from the bottom of any container before usage.
