"Run with the big dogs"
Econotherm heatset inks introduced
Let's face it - the market prices for high-volume heatset web offset process inks has "gone south" and is not likely to rise again. Kerley Ink acknowledges this fact, and has developed a new line of economy-priced high volume heatset inks that actually work very well, despite their low prices. How low-priced will Econotherm inks be? We can sell 4 colors to the east coast for less than $4.90 for 4 lbs., delivered in drums. What's the catch? You'll have to order at least 24 drums (4 tote bins) of combined colors and black. Naturally, we will allow an adequate testing period when less than 24 drum purchases will be considered.

Kerley Ink introduces new "Metallix" sheetfed metallic inks
All-new "Metallix 5 DWF" inks are available in Silver, Rich Gold, and Pale Gold shades. These inks are all made with Kerley's new "Crystagloss QS Metallic" Vehicle, which features tremendous leafing ability and very low acid number. Metallix 5 DWF inks all have a very brilliant luster, especially when viewed from directly in front. All Metallix 5 DWF shades come without driers, giving them enhanced shelf life when they are covered with skin papers. Before canning, Kerley recommends adding no more than 1% of cobalt drier (6% metal content). Additionally, all Metallix 5 DWF inks come without waxes, making them overprintable with low acid number overprint coatings. Tacks of these inks are all above 10 points at 1200 RPM, giving good lithographic properties, and ensuring "room" for adding driers and waxes. Metallix sheetfed inks are stocked in 3.5 gallon plastic buckets (30 Lbs. net/13.6 kg net), and drums of Metallix are available by special arrangement.
